The hunt for a professional career started from my final year of engineering through on-campus placement drives. College helped and supported a lot.
The first drive was scheduled with Tech Mahindra for the role of Associate Software Engineer. I could not clear the interview as I got rejected in the final round.
The next opportunity was with CGI for the role of Associate Software Engineer. Again I failed to clear the interview as I was not strong technically.
My third opportunity was with Mindtree for the role of Software Engineer. Was happy that I was the only candidate from college to advance to the final round. This opportunity too was a failure because of a simple mistake from my end.
It was time for me to think and analyze my weak areas and I started working on them. Simultaneously I was working on my research work too. Before I graduated I had 3 offers in hand.
Post engineering, along with my masters preparation I was also open to opportunities. By this time I had gained lot of technical knowledge as I was involved in research activities and I never looked back.
I got my second opportunity with Mindtree for the role of Software Engineer. Finally cleared it and received the offer. At that time my confidence of pursuing Masters was very high as I had admits from all applied uinversities. Because of this over confidence I rejected the offer which was later revoked.
I got my next opportunity with Cognizant for the role of Programmer Analyst Trainee. I cleared it and received the offer. Since I still had hopes of pursuing Masters I planned to decline the offer and it was revoked.
Later I got my second opportunity with CGI for the role of Associate Software Engineer. I cleared it and received the offer. Also I got another opportunity with Mindtree, my third opportunity. I again cleared it and received conditional offer. I had decided to accept the offer from Mindtree which made me reject CGI and wait for Mindtree.
As I was waiting I got a very big opportunity with Accenture as Application Development Associate. I cleared it and received the offer. By this time my Masters possibility was completely down and had made up my mind to start my professional career. After rejecting almost 5 offers finally I accepted the offer and became a part of Accenture family on December 2018. Again, I would like to thank my uncle for his continuous support and guidance in helping me start my professional career.
After initial hesitation I got adjusted. Successfully completed the training program but was assigned the role of testing. I struggled there as my mind was not ready to accept testing after I had worked a lot on my research and development. I was also afraid that my career would be in testing and that I will not be able to switch later. All these made me look for alternate opportunity. I got an opportunity at Harman Connected Services. Also I got my second opportunity from Tech Mahindra. I put down my papers and joined Harman.
Before leaving from Accenture fortunately I got an opportunity to meet few seniors. I got an opportunity to explain my situation and impress them with my works.
Finally here I am, working as an Associate Engineer at Harman.
And this is about my professional career.
I would like to take this opportunity and request you to please contact me to discuss further.
